As a versatile and experienced piano teacher, I believe in creating a learning environment that fosters musical excellence, nurtures self-expression, and supports each student’s personal growth. My philosophy combines individualized teaching, creative experimentation, and a focus on emotional and social development to make learning music a joyful and meaningful journey.

Musical Excellence

Every student should have access to high-quality musical training, while working closely with a teacher who understands that perfection will never be achieved. I strive to provide musical guidance recognizing each student’s unique potential.

Some of the key aspects of musical learning are: musical reading, technical development, musical comprehension and accurate ears. This combo enables the student to put all the notes and chords together to make it become music.

Individualized Curriculum

Considering that each person learns in different ways, and has different abilities, I search for the most appropriate method for each student, and tailor the lessons and materials for each specific need. It is of utmost importance to individualize the pedagogical process to engage each student and make possible a fun and successful learning process that will foster self-confidence.

The material is prepared for each student individually, using existing resources from a variety of method books, classical and popular repertoire, and original exercises created by myself to address the students’ needs.

Self-expression and Emotional Growth

Music should be a fun activity, and should support the student’s growth as a whole. Therefore, clear communication and a safe environment for self-expression is essential in the learning process. By creating an environment where the students feel free to express themselves knowing that who they are and what they feel will be acknowledged and supported, I show the students that they are more important than music itself.

Experimentation

The learning process is more meaningful when the student creates their understanding of the musical concepts based on investigation – experimentation, evaluation, trial, then solution. This instigates curiosity and empowers them to take an active role in their learning process. This approach supports a fun and efficient musical learning, and helps them develop problem-solving skills and resilience, both in music and in life. Ultimately, the student becomes an independent learner that will take the fun of making music through their whole life.
